Edinburgh – Beltane Fire Festival

Due to a little bit of disorganisation and being on a tight time schedule we have managed to miss a few festivals, but we managed to time our visit to Edinburgh perfectly – Beltane Fire Festival.

Beltane is a celebration of the beginning of summer that was started by the Gaels, and is celebrated today on Calton Hill, Edinburgh. Think of fire twirlers, actors exploring their more bizarre side of caveman like behaviour, drummers – lots and lots of drummers, and of course the real reason that everyone goes for but no one admits – the red naked people.
